Abstract

1349266 X-ray control systems SIEMENS AG 25 Nov 1971 [25 Nov 1970] 54876/71 Heading H2H An X-ray installation comprises a plurality of X-ray units respectively associated with a control unit so as to control the X-ray unit by way of a common supply unit, each of the control units having a selector device to select the mode of operation of the associated X-ray unit and a manually operable switch which enables the associated X-ray unit to be connected to the supply unit whilst at the same time preventing any of the other X-ray units from being connected to the supply unit. Three X- ray units 1, 2, 3, having differing radiological uses, are connectable to a common supply unit 4; each X-ray unit being provided with a control unit 5, 6, 7 respectively. The installation further includes an inhibiting unit 13 and a central control desk 17 which is connectable to the supply unit 4 in place of the control units 5, 6 or 7. The desired exposure parameters for the X-ray units 1, 2, 3 are settable by the keys 8, 9, 10 in the control units 5, 6, 7 and each of these control units has an override key 14, 15, 16 respectively by means of which the control desk 17 is connectable to the supply unit 4 in which ease the exposure parameters are settable by devices 18-26. Formally the control unit 5 of the X-ray unit 1 is connected to the supply unit 4 by way of a closed contact g of relay G and a closed contact a 4 of relay A the X-ray unit 1 being connected to the supply unit 4 by the closed contact a 1 thereof, the control units 6, 7 being disconnected from the supply unit by means of open contacts b 4 , c 4 of relays B, C. If now it is required to connect control unit 6 ofX- ray unit 2 to the supply unit 4 a switch 11 in the control unit 6 is closed manually. Relay B is then energized to close contacts b 4 , b 1 thus connecting control unit 6 and the X-ray unit 2 respectively to the supply unit 4. At the same time contacts b 2 , b 3 are closed to energize relays D, F. Energization of relay D opens contact d to de-energize relay A thus opening contacts a 4 , a 1 , to disconnect control unit 5 and the X-ray unit 1 respectively from the supply unit 4. Energization of relay F opens contact f which prevents energization of relay C thus preventing the connection of control unit 7 to the supply unit 4. Closure of a manual switch 12 in control unit 7 has a similar operation. Operation of the override key 14, for example, energizes the relay G to operate the contact g whereupon the control unit 5 is disconnected from the supply unit 4 and the control desk 17 connected thereto. Operation of override keys 15, 16 perform similar functions.
