Abstract
1348218 Pesticidal phosphorus containing thiophene derivatives STAUFFER CHEMICAL CO 8 Sept 1972 [9 Sept 1971] 41740/72 Headings C2P and C2C Novel compounds of Formula I where R is C 1-4 alkyl and R 1 is C 1-4 alkyl or alkoxy may be prepared by reacting thiophen- 2-yl-glyoxylonitrile oxime sodium salt with a suitable dialkyl thiophosphoryl halide or O- alkyl alkane phosphonic acid halide. The starting material, thiophen-2-yl-glyoxylonitrile oxime sodium salt, may be prepared by reacting sodium methoxide with a mixture of thiophen-2-yl-acetonitrile and isoamyl nitrite in a solvent. The compounds of Formula I have insecticidal properties and may be used as the active ingredients in conventional pesticidal compositions.
