Abstract

1347586 Centrifugal casting of buttons S G HUDSON 16 March 1972 [16 March 1971] 12430/72 Heading B5A Apparatus for centrifugally casting buttons comprises a rotatable turntable around the periphery of which are pivoted mould supports, each supporting a button mould and a container mounted on each mould to feed material to the mould in use. As shown in Fig. 4, turntable 4 has radial arms 6 with support plates 7 mounted thereon. Mould supports 9 are pivoted at 8 to plates 7 and carry a mould 10 and material container 11. Mould 10 is made from rubber and comprises upper and lower parts 12, 13 connected by bar 18. Part 12 has a material reservoir 14 connected by channel 15 to hole 16 forming the shank in which the thread hole is formed by bar 18. Material container 11 is pivoted on bar 20 to support 9 and has an outlet 21 supplying material to reservoir 14 in use. If hole 21 is not used, a lug 25 is connected to a tipping bar 22 pivoted at 23 on plate 24 which is mounted on arm 6 to tip the container 11 when in use.
