Abstract

1347437 Rectifier circuits M OSHIMA 20 Oct 1972 48427/72 Heading H3T [Also in Division G1] A rectifier circuit suitable for use in a measuring instrument comprises a MOS field effect transistor T and an amplifier OP connected between the drain resistor R 1 and the gate electrode of T. An A.C. input voltage E of a low voltage such as resulting from sound pressure or vibration displacement is rectified by the MOS transistor T which functions as a highly linear switch even for low voltage signals. The amplifier OP provides sufficient amplification for all A.C. input signals present at P within the measuring range. A series circuit comprising a D.C. ammeter I and a resistor R 2 is provided for the measurement of the quasi-RMS current or the quasi-RMS voltage between the input P to the amplifier and earth. Components R 5 , C 2 and C 3 are provided for frequency compensation. A full wave rectified output may be obtained by using two circuits such as shown in Fig. 5.
