Abstract

1346311 Plate heat exchangers APV CO Ltd 15 Dec 1971 [11 Feb 1971] 4463/71 Addition to 1207016 Heading F4S A plate heat exchanger, of the type disclosed in Specification 1,207,016 having a disc 8 constituting a reinforcing element welded to the underside of plate 2 in the region of its unperforated port zone, includes a further reinforcing disc 9 welded to the adjacent plate 3. A third reinforcing disc 10 may be welded to the other side of plate 2. The discs 9 and 10 may be similar to and concentric with the disc 9, or they may be of different shape and eccentrically located with respect to the disc 8. In a modified embodiment (not shown) the reinforcing disc 8 is welded to the plate 3 only, and the reinforcing discs 9 and 10 are dispensed with.
