Abstract
1346153 Inverting: control of AC motors CKD PRAHA OBOROVY PODNIK 1 Feb 1972 [2 Feb 1971] 4686/72 Headings H2F and H2J In a single or polyphase inverter comprising a first group of thyristors 11, 11a, 11b connected to a positive supply terminal and a second group of thyristors 14, 14a, 14b connected to a negative supply terminal, respective, commutating circuits 30 are provided for the first and the second groups of thyristors, each commutating circuit 30 comprising a thyristor 40 in series with inductor 50 and bridged by a capacitor 60 and being coupled to the A.C. side of the respective thyristors by means of. a semi-conductor switching device 21, 21a, 21b. As described, the output terminals RST may feed an asynchronous traction motor with a squirrel-cage rotor the speed of the motor up to a certain value being determined by firing of the thyristor 40 by pulses dependent on a carrier frequency and, at higher speeds above this value, by firing of the thyristors 11 ..., 14 ... at intervals of 120 degrees. If the output frequency is low, the necessary output voltage control is then ensured and if the output frequency is high, the output voltage is held constant.
