1345969 Feeding sheets SOC D'ETUDES ET DE VENTE DE MATERIELS POUR LA FABRICATION ET LE FACONNAGE DU CARTON ONDULE-MARTIN 11 June 1971 [24 July 1970] 27488/71 Heading B8R [Also in Division F2] A device for controlling movements of means for feeding sheets to a cyclically operating machine, e.g. for controlling the movement of a reciprocating gripper device 1 such as a suction box, suction disc or magnetic gripper which feeds cardboard sheets to a slotter, paper sheets to a printing machine or plastics or metal sheets to a press, comprises a first shaft 8 in drivable connection in angular synchronism with a drive mechanism of the machine, a disc 11 keyed to the first shaft and having a second shaft 14 rotatably mounted therein parallel to the first shaft and spaced therefrom a distance R equal to MN, the second shaft 14 having fixed at one end thereof a gear-wheel 18 having N teeth of module M meshing with 3N teeth 17 of module M on a fixed gear ring, the other end of the second shaft 14 mounting a disc 19 having a crank-pin 20 spaced a distance r, substantially equal to 0À45 R, from the second shaft 14 and adapted to be connected via a connecting rod 22 of length L between 4.3 R and 4À5 R to said gripper device 1, e.g. via arm 5 and shaft 3. This gearing causes the gripper device 1 to dwell whilst it is applied to a sheet before being reciprocated to and from the machine.
