Abstract

1345471 Positive clutches AVTOMOBILNY ZAVOD IMENI LENINSKOGO KOMSOMOLA 6 Jan 1972 556/72 Heading F2C In the synchronizer shown pins 8 pass through holes 6 in a disc 4 forming part of the splined coupling member 1, the pins and holes having surfaces 10, 7 respectively which baulk movement of the sleeve until synchronization is completed. Grooves 19 in the pins receive spring rings 17, guided in slots 18 of the sleeve, which, on initial movement of the sleeve 1 move the pins by acting against surfaces 20, the spring on the side to which the sleeve is moved coming out of groove 19 to ride along the surface of the pins 8 on synchronization. Also described are a synchronizer, equivalent to half of that shown, which can only synchronize one gear with the input shaft 3 (Fig. 3, not shown) and a synchronizer in which separate pins baulk the movement for each direction (Fig. 4, not shown).
