Abstract

1344867 Inverting LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS GmbH 19 April 1971 [14 March 1970] 23622/71 Heading H2F In an inverter supplied from a variable direct-voltage source E1, commutation is achieved by a common capacitor K4 charged alternately from two voltage sources E2, E3 independent of the variable source E1. As described, each source E2, E3 supplies a capacitor K2, K3 of larger value than the commutating capacitor K4 and develops a voltage U2, U3 equal to half the maximum voltage of the source El. Thyristor n7 is first turned on to charge capacitor K4 resonantly via inductor i7 with a first polarity. If, e.g. thyristor n61 is to be turned off, thyristors n8 and n62 are turned on so as to discharge capacitor K4 via diode n10 in the reverse direction through thyristor n62. Capacitor K4 is now recharged with the opposite polarity from source E3 via the resonant circuit including choke i2. Further windings on choke i1, i2 recover surplus energy.
