Abstract

1344639 Machinery guards T T MIKULIN 28 Sept 1971 45051/71 Heading F2J A machinery guard comprises a vertically disposed frame containing a plurality of horizontal panels 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D, 5E, 5F and 5G which are supported at their opposite ends by lazy tongs mechanisms for movement of the panels from a closed position, Fig. 1, to an open position, shown dotted in Fig. 3, the frame being formed in its opposite vertically extending marginal portions 1, 2 with longitudinally extending slots 39 for receiving rollers 38 on central pivots 30 of the lazy tongs mechanisms. Counter-weights 9 are secured to slides 46 which are slidable in slots 39a in channel portions 41 of slide frames 1, 2. A hand bar 12 is secured to the bottom panel 5G and provides a positive locking means for retaining the guard in closed position.
