Abstract
1343698 Electrostatic developer AGFAGEVAERT 9 May 1972 [21 May 1971] 16345/71 Heading G2H A toner material comprises toner particles and at least one solid hydrophobic bivalent or trivalent metal salt of a half ester of a branchedchain or straight chain aliphatic dicarboxylic acid and/or at least one solid hydrophobic bivalent or trivalent metal salt of a monoester or diester of a phosphorus oxyacid. The metal salt may be incorporated in the toner particles, be a coating on them or may be present as a powder. The toner particles may comprise a colouring material such as carbon black and a binding gum or polymer, and coated or uncoated carrier particles may be added before use to make up a developer. Gums, polymers and carrier materials which are usable are listed. Salts of Zn, Mn, Ca, St, Ba, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Al and Pb derived from succinic, gluteric, maleic and glutaconic acids and mixtures thereof, or frorm ortho, pyro and hypophosphoric and phosphenic acids, are usable. Methods of preparation are given for exemplory compounds.
