1343399 Ceramic shapes REDLAND BRICKS Ltd 19 April 1971 [7 Jan 1970] 848/70 Heading C1J Ceramic shapes are made by forming a mix comprising substantially equal proportions of large particle size clay and granite ground to pass a 120 BSS sieve, and 30 to 60 wt. % (based on the weight of granite) of quartz, adding a binder, e.g. bentonite and/or water, pressing at pressures up to 2250 lb./sq. inch and fired at 1200‹ C. for not longer than 19 hours and cooling slowly over 18 hours. Up to 30% alumina can be included in the mix.
