Abstract

1342786 Positive clutches ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 19 April 1971 [28 Feb 1970] 21072/71 Heading F2C [Also in Division B4] A drive transmission clutch for use with a hand guided percussion drill comprises an input drive member 1, a tool drive member 12 and a coupling sleeve 21 displaceable between drivetransmitting engagement with both members 1, 12, and non-driving engagement with the drive member 12 only, sleeve locking means 29, Fig. 1, being engageable with at least one recess 25 in the sleeve 21. The drive member 1 includes a shank 2 for insertion in the tool holder of a drill (not shown), and cut-outs 7, 8 extending partway around a portion 3 define ribs, 9, 10, Fig. 2, for driving engagement with ribs 23, 24 of the sleeve 21, in turn located in axial grooves 18, 19 of the member 12. Alternatively, spring-loaded balls 29 forming the locking means may be replaced by an elastic ring 134, Fig. 7, located in grooves 135, 136 of the drive member 112 and sleeve 121, the ring providing an over-centre arrangement to retain the sleeve 122 in its two extreme positions.
