Abstract

1342765 Variable speed epicyclic gears FRANCE ARMED FORCES MINISTER OF 19 April 1971 [13 April 1970] 9969/71 Heading F2D A two-speed reduction gear comprises a sunring epicyclic train B having a sun member 7, a ring member 6 and a carrier member 11, one of the members being the output, the other two members alternately being couplable (e.g. by clutch dogs, b, c) to the input (e.g. wheel 2), and brakeable (e.g. by fixed dogs f, g). There may be an intermediate disconnected position as shown. The members 6 and may be splined to dogs 3 and 4 axially movable together, hydraulically (shown), pneumatically, mechanically or electrically. The output j may be connected to a sprocket wheel 13 of a track-laying vehicle.
