Abstract

1342301 Photosensitive zinc oxide RANK XEROX Ltd 5 Jan 1971 [9 Jan 1970] 382/71 Heading C1A [Also in Divisions C3 and H1] The spectral sensitivity of zinc oxide powder is changed by exposing it for not more than 15 minutes to electromagnetic radiation in the frequency range 950 to 2450 MHz in amount above 1000 watt seconds/kilogram of zinc oxide, so as to remove absorbed water from the zinc oxide. If desired, the sensitivity of the zinc oxide may be extended to the visible range by the addition of suitable dyes to a mixture of the treated zinc oxide and resins (e.g. styrene-alkyd resins) normally employed as binders with zinc oxide.
