1342029 Tobacco compositions BRITISHAMERICAN TOBACCO CO Ltd 16 May 1972 [11 June 1971] 27521/71 Heading A2C A smoking material comprises a tobacco component consisting of or comprising a combustible reconstituted tobacco of a type which consists solely or essentially of natural tobacco substances, which smoking material contains more than 10% by weight of a filler intimately incorporated therein and consisting solely or substantially solely of chalk. The reconstituted tobacco may include added tobacco extract. The reconstituted tobacco may be produced by casting or extruding a mixture to which the chalk has been added to form sheets or filaments respectively. Alternatively, where the reconstitution of an aqueous tobacco slurry if effected on a paper-making machine, the chalk is fed together with the slurry to the headstock of the machine. In this latter case, due to the low retension of chalk relative to fibres on the wire of the paper-making machine, two to three times the required ratio of chalk to fibres is fed to the machine.
