Abstract

1341991 Packaging F KLEIN 19 April 1971 [24 Feb 1970] 22321/71 Heading B8C Articles are given an open ended heat sealable wrapping (Fig. 1), are passed to an endless conveyer 13 on which one end of the wrapping is sealed by a device 15, and are then passed to a second conveyer (23), Fig. 5 (not shown), which, together with a sealing device (19) for the other end of the wrapping, is laterally adjustable in position by means of a screw (28). Articles of different lengths can thus be wrapped, even if their lengths are less than the widths of the conveyers involved. In the initial wrapping step (Fig. 1) each article is moved by a pusher 5 through. a curtain of wrapping material drawn from rolls 1 and 3. Bars 8 and 9 seal the material behind the advancing article. Rolls 2 and 4 carry material of a different width so that articles of different widths can be readily accommodated.
