1341803 Latches ARCHIBERNETICA Srl 1 June 1972 [4 June 1971] 25621/72 Headings E2A and E2F A closure device comprises a door panel 1 or other closure member which is hinged on a vertical edge, a pair of pivotable elongated members 15, 16 extending throughout the length of the panel on both sides thereof adjacent a free edge and a latch member 18 slidably mounted in the medial plane of the panel and engageable in a slot 27 in a fixed frame member 2 or withdrawable therefrom by pushing or pulling either elongated member. The panel has a pair of end plates 9, which have pins 10 and 12 which engage in holes in the panel and pins 14 which engage in holes in the elongated handle members 15, 16. A rod 22 mounted in a slot in the end plates between opposed springs 25, 26 engages in a slot in the latch member 18. The latch member has grooves 19 in one of which a rib 20 of a handle member engages when it is pulled to withdraw the latch. To lock the latch either handle member is pressed to urge the latch member further into the groove and to engage a rib 28 on the handle member with a groove 29 on the panel. The door hinge comprises a base member 30 with a T shaped member engaging in a slot in a fixed frame member 3 and a hinge pin 33 engageable in a sleeve 36 slidable in a keyhole slot in the door. The fixed frame members 2 and 3 have slots for the T shaped heads of members with tangs for fixing in surrounding masonry or the like. The uprights have side cover plates 7 with projections which snap engage in grooves in the uprights. The upper ends of the uprights are connected by a similarly shaped cross member.
