Abstract

1341182 Active filters HUGHES AIRCRAFT CO 14 Sept 1972 42648/72 Heading H3U A notch filter comprises: an input 11 at which is applied an input signal with a number of frequency components including a selected one to be rejected; a source of clock pulses 22; a filter 15 responsive to the clock signal to select, from the input signal, the signal to be rejected, and to phase shift it; and means to combine the input signal with the phase shifted selected signal to produce a signal at output 12 having the selected signal attenuated by a substantial factor. The phase shifting is 180 degrees and is effected by pre- and post-filters 13, 18 each producing 90 degrees phase shift. Alternatively three filters having 60 degrees phase shift may be used. The filter 15 is an n-path filter, Fig. 2, having a series resistor R and shunt capacitors C1 .... C6 associated with switches S1 ....S6 which are driven by the clock source.
