1341093 Ornamenting INDUSTRIE PIRELLI SpA 12 May 1971 [27 May 1970] 14453/71 Heading B6G [Also in Division B2] A shaped rubber article which is covered on at least a part of its surface by a layer of fibres anchored thereto by coating adhesive is produced by hot-extruding a rubber composition to obtain the shaped article, applying a solution of an adhesive to an area of the article, the solvent used having a boiling point higher than the temperature of the hot-extruded article, projecting or depositing the fibres on the adhesive coating, subjecting the article to a single heat treatment in a hot-air tunnel at atmospheric pressure to obtain both the evaporation of the solvent and the curing of the rubber. The article may be cooled immediately after its emergence from the extruder. The adhesive may be of the polyurethane type. The fibres may be applied. electrostatically and may be polyamide fibres.
