Abstract
1340565 Consuming noxious vapours; heating air for drying UNIVERSAL OIL PRODUCTS CO 26 April 1971 [27 April 1970] 11316/71 Headings F4B and F4G In a device for burning the fumes from an enamelling or curing oven, part of the burnt gases are recycled to the entry to the device. A combustion chamber 1 receives fumes and additional air through a fan 12 delivering into a mixing zone 11, and a burner 19 directs a flame into the combustion chamber proper. A recycle passage 23 returns some of the burnt gases to the mixing zone 11, part of the gases pass through a heat-exchanger 8 to a stack 6, and the remainder of the burnt gases, together with air heated in exchanger 8, are fed to the oven. Part of the fumes by-pass the combustion chamber through a passage 25. In a modification, the recycle and by-pass ducts form annular jackets round the combustion chamber. The recycled gases may be introduced into the combustion chamber through spaced nozzles.
