1340460 Assembling dynamo - electric machines LAURENCE SCOTT & ELECTROMOTORS Ltd and J LYONS 17 July 1972 33371/72 Heading B3A [Also in Division H2] An A.C. induction motor is constructed by assembling two pairs of rectangular stator coils 14, 16 around a rotor 8, as in Fig. 2, using finger members 50 (Fig. 7) mounted in an end plate (not illustrated), and then axially sliding the assembly into a stator 2 so that the arrangement of Fig. 7 is produced, the fingers 50 having fitted over the stator poles 7 and having guided the coils 14, 16 into axial slots 6 in the stator; the fingers and the end plate are then removed and the coils wedged into position at 52 (Fig. 7) and 30 (Fig. 3, not shown). The method of construction may be applied with other numbers of coils/phases/poles.
