Abstract

1340116 Bells EDWARDS CO Inc 12 July 1971 [10 July 1970] 32532/71 Heading G5J The striker 14 of a bell is driven by an electromagnet 15 energized by a free running asymmetric multivibrator circuit (Fig. 2) carried on a printed circuit board 20. The output transistor T3 is energized for approximately 40% of the time, which is sufficient to drive the striker towards the gong 12, and the multivibrator frequency is adjusted to coincide with the natural resonant frequency of the spring 19. The supporting plate 17 is adjustable at 18 to allow for the throw of the striker.
