Abstract

1339795 Diacetyl monododecanoyl glyceride DYNAMIT NOBEL AG 1 March 1971 5707/71 Heading C2C Diacetyl monododecanoyl glycerol free from other glycerides is prepared by reacting monododecanoyl glycerol with an acetylating agent such as acetic anhydride or by transesterification of tridodecanoyl glycerol with triacetin followed by molecular distillation. The monododecanoyl is isolated from the esterification of lauric acid by, for example, molecular distillation. Compositions of diacetyl monoalkanoyl (12-16 C) glyceride with at least 10% by weight of diacetyl monododecanoyl glycerol remain stable and clear after prolonged storage.
