Abstract

1339201 Molybdenite concentrate purification BRENDA MINES Ltd 16 March 1971 7011/71 Heading C1A Molybdenite concentrate is purified from Ca, Fe, Cu, Bi and Pb, by leaching the concentrate with an aqueous solution of FeCl 3 and/or CuCl 2 and also containing NaCl, KCl, MgCl 2 and/or CaCl 2 in a concentration of at least 10% by wt., the solution having a temperature of from 70‹ C. up to the b.p. of the solution. The leach liquor may be recycled for further leach after having been oxidized with Cl 2 and acidified with HCl to a pH #1, a part of the liquor being bled off to remove impurities.
