Abstract

1339202 Molybdenite concentrate purification BRENDA MINES Ltd 16 March 1971 9013/73 Divided out of 1339201 Heading C1A Molybdenite concentrate is purified from Ca, Fe, Cu, Bi and Pb, by leaching the concentrate with an aqueous solution of FeCl 3 and/or CuCl 2 acidified to a pH of at most 1 with HCl at an elevated pressure and at a temperature #100‹C. up to the b.p. of the solution. The leach liquor may be recycled for further leach after having been oxidized with Cl 2 and be acidified with HCl to a pH of #1, a part of the liquor being bled off to remove impurities.
