Abstract

1338535 Windscreen cleaning systems WESTFALISCHE METALL INDUSTRIE K G HUECK & CO 25 May 1972 [26 May 1971] 24722/72 Heading A4F In a wiping and washing system for a windscreen, headlamp lens, vehicle rear window, or other glazed surface and including a pressure sensitive switch actuated by liquid pressure in a washing liquid conduit, a wiper motor is energized upon response of the pressure sensitive switch to a reduction of liquid pressure in the conduit following an increase caused by liquid being driven through the conduit. On, operation of a washer pump a pressure sensitive switch 5b is closed so that a capacitor C is charged via a diode D2 and a resistor R1 to render a transistor T conducting, a current flowing through the latter and a resistor R4, a diode D1, and the switch 5b. On discontinuation of the washer pump operation the switch 5b opens, to interrupt a by-pass circuit of a relay which is then energized to operate the wiper motor. In an alternative embodiment Fig.2, (not shown), the diodes D1, D2 are omitted and the pressure-sensitive switch has a change-over function to connect either the resistor R1 or the relay to earth.
