Abstract

1338245 Valves MOSKOVSKOE VYSSHEE TEKHNICHESKOE UCHILISCHE IMENI N E BAUMANA 27 Nov 1970 [1 Dec 1969] 56616/70 Heading F2V [Also in Divisions G1 and H1] In a valve actuator of the type described in Specification 1,281,060 the part 8 connected to the movable member 9 of the valve 10 is held in its lower position after heating and elongation of the electric wire 2 by the core 15 of an electromagnet 13 co-operating with an abutment 12. On cooling of the wire a loading is imposed thereby acting to move the member 8 upwards. Actuation of the electromagnet 13 to move the core releases the member 8 and allows the wire 2 to quickly actuate the movable valve member. In a modification the electromagnet 13 is replaced by an electrically heatable wire extending between a fixed support and a spring-loaded support which co-operates with the end of a spring-loaded lever co-operating with the abutment. The actuator may be used with electric switches and heat regulation louvres.
