1338223 Coin-freed apparatus ELECTRIC SHOP DEVELOPMENTS Ltd and W L ROBINSON 22 Dec 1970 [26 Sept 1969] 47480/69 Heading G4V Coin-freed apparatus comprises a coin slide (10) (Figs. 1 to 6, not shown) freed for operative movement by the insertion of at least one coin therein, a switch 94 and switch operating means co-operating with the slide and arranged so that at least two operative movements of the slide are necessary before the switch is operated. The coin slide is preferably of the form described in Specification 1,273,147. In the embodiment described, which is designed as a "two-times" accumulator, a part 77 of the slide acts by means of spring 76 on contact button 75 which slides within housing 70, an end 86 of the button 75 being a push fit within the bore of a hollow splined sleeve 84, the splines 85 corresponding to grooves 79 in a collar 78 within the housing. As the sleeve 84 is moved knife-edge projections 84a at its end co-operate with the chisel edges 90 of arms 89 of the abutment member 87 to slightly rotate the member which is mounted on a shaft 91 extending from a block 92 that carries a contact 94 of the switch, and urged towards the sleeve, within which a shaft 88 of the member is located, by a spring 93. On movement of the slide back to its initial position the slight rotation previously imparted to the member 87 by the knife-edges 84a enables the member to be further rotated by interaction between the chisel edges 90 of arms 89 and inclined edges 82 of members 80 so that the arms 89 now lie between the members 80. On a second operation of the coin slide a further slight rotation of member 87 is made by the edges 84a and now an arm of the member is in a position to operate the contact 94 of the switch. On return to the initial position the chisel edges 90 co-operate with inclined edges 81 of members 80 so that the arms 89 again sit in grooves 83 in the members 80. The accumulator may be adapted for a greater number of operations by changing the number of arms 90 and members 80.
