Abstract
1337720 Drying flowable material in a fluidised bed CALMIC ENG CO Ltd 25 Nov 1970 [27 Aug 1969] 42662/69 Heading B1B In a method of reducing the liquid content of a flowable material e.g. a paste or slurry, the material is introduced through outlets 24 into a fluidised bed of particles 20 so that the material forms a layer or each particle, the fluidising gas reducing the liquid content of the material to form a layer of dried material on each particle, which is then removed by collision between the particles. The particles are formed of a material different from the dried material, and may be hollow spherical balls made of plastics material.
