Abstract

1337409 Cine projectors AGFA-GEVAERT A G 7 Dec 1970 [5 Dec 1969 24 Jan 1970] 58020/70 Heading G2E A cine projector incorporates a recess for receiving a cassette and a resiliently mounted plate which is pressed into contact with a side wall of the cassette so that a retaining device mounted on the plate is able to engage a cooperating part of the wall of the cassette. As shown in Fig.4 the cassette 9 is located in the recess and parallel ribs 14, 15 which extend along the wall 12 thereof are engaged by the upper end of the plate 27. The plate 27 is placed into contact with the cassette by spring 30 and is pivoted about hinge 28, 29. Leaf-springs (24), 25 which are relatively displaced along the wall 11 of the cassette 9 provide further clamping and alignment of the cassette 9. To remove the cassette from the recess the sprung handle 20 is pushed downwards at 20b as that lever 38 is moved upwards to engage extension 33 of the plate 27 so that it is pulled away from the ribs 14, 15 and the cassette can be removed. In Fig.5 (not shown) the lever 38 is modified to extend out of the end wall of the projector and the downward force applied directly to it. In Fig.6 (not shown) the lever 38 is displaceable sideways so that it may engage the end 34 of the extension 33 and so pull the plate out of contact with the ribs 14, 15. In Fig.7, 8 (not shown) the release of the cassette is performed by a button (50) which is placed on an upwards extension of the plate 27 so that the bottom forms one side of the entrance to the recess. In Fig.2 (not shown) no release mechanism is present and a sprung plate (16) fitted to the body of the projector has a tapered wedge end which co-operates with ribs 14, 15 on the cassette through a hole in the wall of the recess. In Fig.9, 10, 11 (not shown) the recess is able to take cassettes of a large variety of sizes. For small cassettes, Fig.9, lugs (101a) on the cassette catch below extending arms (127a) of a plate (127) which is otherwise like the plate 27 and for the larger cassettes, Fig.11, (not shown) the lugs (101a) are replaced by strips (101'a), (101'b) on the side of the cassette, there being a break in the strips so that the arms (127a) of plate (127) may fit therein and hold the cassette in the recess. In Fig.12 (not shown) the plate (127) is modified to have a central spring clip (127d) engaging a slot (101d) in the wall of the smaller cassette and the arms (127a) are shortened and extended downwards to form inclined surfaces (127c) which engage slots (101'c) in the wall of the larger cassettes. In the embodiments of Fig.9-12 (not shown) the release mechanism is as shown in Fig.4 and in all the embodiments the plate is preferably resilient and made of a plastic material.
