1337176 Antibacterial compositions YAMANOUCHI PHARMACEUTICAL CO Ltd 26 May 1971 [6 June 1970] 17291/71 Heading A5B Aqueous suspension syrups for treating diarrhoea in baby pigs, the syrups containing 1 - (5 - nitro - 2 - furyl) - 2 - (6 - amino - 3 - pyridazyl) ethylene, (nifurprazine), a sweetening agent and a cellulose derivative, are prepared by suspending 1 - (5 - nitro - 2 - furyl) - 2 - (6 - amino - 3 - pyridazyl) ethylene free base in water, using a cellulose derivative as suspending agent, and adding a sweetening agent to the suspension. The cellulose derivative may be methyl-, carboxymethyl-, hydroxypropyl or sodium carboxymethyl-cellulose and the sweetening agent may be sugar or saccarin. The syrups are administered orally and may also contain microcrystalline cellulose, a diluent, a surface active agent, a thickening agent and/or a preservative.
