1336776 Esters UGINE KUHLMANN 5 Nov 1971 [6 Nov 1970] 51554/71 Heading C2C Colourless esters are obtained by esterifying at least one alcohol with a mono- or polycarboxylic anhydride or acid in a hydrogenating medium at substantially atmospheric pressure in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst which is an element of the 5th or 6th series of Group VIII of the Periodic Table, hydrogenation conditions being applied as soon as the reagents, are contacted and is continued throughout the esterification reaction.
