Abstract

133,527. Marr, A. Nov. 26, 1918. Microphones and variable - resistance transmitters.- The vibrations of a transmitter diaphragm are transmitted to the movable electrode of the microphone through a confined layer of air. The diaphragm 3 is held between a retaining ring 2 and a. felt annulus 4 which together with the diaphragm 3 and a flexible metallic sheet 6 encloses an air space 5. The front electrode 7 contacts with the sheet 6 and is separated from the back electrode 12 by a felt annulus 8 and from the base 9 by a paper washer 11. The base 9 is secured to the casing 1 by a stud 13, and is insulated from it bv washers 15. The sheet 6 forms an electric connexion between the casing and the front electrode 7. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 147,939, [Class 118 (ii), Signals].
