Abstract

1335125 - Transporting shuttles in travelling wave shed looms VYZKUMNY USTAV BAVLNARSKY 21 April 1971 [28 April 1970] 10328/71 Heading DIE A device for transporting shuttles in travelling wave shed looms and for propelling them through the shed comprises an endless belt driven around a guide path 7 and having carrier links 1 for the shuttles, each carrier link being provided with a vertical roller 12, which when the shuttle enters the shed, cooperates with a roller 3a thereon to propel the shuttle. In the weaving area, a flexible belt 18 covers the top of guide path 1 and the endless belt, and passes with the lower warp sheet between rollers 12 and 3a as the shuttle progresses. Outside of the weaving area, the shuttles are firmly attached to carrier links 1 by a stop 4, Fig. 5 which is lowered as the shuttle enters the shed, or by a rocker lever (13), Fig. 3, (not shown) having a projecting nose (19) which bears on the rear end of the shuttle and is lowered out of the way as the shuttle enters the shed. At the semi-circular end parts of the guide path 7 plate-like retaining members (8'), Fig. 7 (not shown) rotating with chain wheels (27) driving the endless belt come to rest on the tops of the shuttles to maintain them in position. A spring loaded ball 6 on the shuttles may lock them in position on the links 1.
