Abstract

1335123 Knitted fabrics CAROLINA NARROW FABRIC CO 19 March 1971 7361/71 Heading D1K [Also in Division A5] An orthopedic cast comprises an inner protective sleeve (10) surrounded by an immobilizing fabric of glass fibre material impregnated with a settable resin and the sleeve may be of polyethylene or polypropylene yarn in either a 1 x 1 half cardigan weft knit (Figure 5) or a milanese construction (Figure 6). The yarn of the sleeve may contain bacteriostatic hexachlorophene. The immobilizing fabric (Figures 3, 4 not shown) is as disclosed in Specification 1314763.
