Abstract
1334725 Aerating liquids HERON ESTABLISHMENT 3 Nov 1971 [9 Nov 1970] 51125/71 Heading B1C Apparatus for producing aerated drinks comprises a mixing and cooling chamber 1, a pressurised gas supply 3, a supply of syrup, such as a disposable container 6, means 4 for introducing gas from the supply 3 to the container 6, a water tank 8 and means 9 for insertion into the tank 8 to aerate and discharge the water into the chamber 1. In operation, CO 2 &c., from the supply 3 enters the syrup through a passage 15, Fig. 2, a port 17 ensuring equal pressure within and without the container 6, and the syrup being ejected through a passage 16 and line 7 to the chamber 1. The water is pressurised through a line 10 and passage 20, being expelled through a bore 21, a passage 22 leading gas from above the water into the bore 21 to increase aeration. A line 11 leads to the chamber 1, where the syrup and water are mixed and cooled for discharge through a distributor 2. Alternatively, Fig. 4 -(not shown), the container 6 may be replaced by a mixing system (26) in which solid material, e.g. dried syrup, is dissolved in water.
