Abstract

1333265 Pipes, insulation; thermal insulation KOHKOKU KAGAKU KOGYO KK 22 Oct 1970 [22 Oct 1969 12 Nov 1969] 50153/70 Headings F2P and F2X A heat-retaining tube comprising inner and outer tubes and a heat-insulating layer between the tubes is made by supporting the inner tube within the outer tube and maintaining the gap between the tubes uniform by means of a plurality of positioning devices, and then introducing a foaming synthetic resin into the gap. Figs. 2, 3, 4 show positioning devices 2(21), 2(22), 2(23), 2(23<SP>1</SP>) attached to the inner tube 3 before insertion into the outer tube. Figs. 6 and 7 (not shown) relate to supporting three inner tubes in an outer tube. A mandrel may be introduced into the inner tube or tubes and may engage with plugs sealing off the ends of the outer tube. In examples the tubes are made of polyvinyl chloride.
