Abstract

1333081 Absorbent pads SOUTHALLS (BIRMINGHAM) Ltd 11 Jan 1971 [17 Jan 1970] 2373/70 Heading A5R An absorbent pad for absorbing liquid discharged from the body has an absorbent fibrous core 10 which is compressed over part of the pad to form a trough 15 which conveys liquid to the core via channels 17 formed by rolling with a spiked roller. The pad has an impermeable backing sheet 11 and is encased by a permeable cover 12 of non-woven fabric. The cover 12 has an impervious coating on the bottom edges and marginal regions of the top of the pad. Apertures are also formed in the sheet covering the core by the spiked roller.
