Abstract
1331928 4-Benzyl-2-piperazinones KYORIN SEIYAKU KK 28 Feb 1972 [26 Feb 1971(2)] 9061/72 Heading C2C [Also in Division A5] 4 - Benzyl - 2 - piperazinones of the general formula wherein each of R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> is a hydrogen or halogen atom or an alkyl group, R<SP>3</SP> is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl or aryl group and R<SP>4</SP> is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group (which are novel except when each of R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>4</SP> is a hydrogen atom), and acid addition salts thereof are prepared by reaction of an appropriate benzyl halide with an appropriate 2-piperazinone in the presence of an acid acceptor, followed optionally by salification of the product.
