Axle structures.-The differential gear b and a short driving-shaft c are carried by a readily-removable frame a which is secured in position in the axle-casing e by four bolts i passing through lugs on the frame. The detachable cover f is secured by means of the same bolts. The driving- shaft c slides into engagement with the propeller shaft d. By this construction, not only is the differential and driving gear removable as a separate unit, but the requisite rigidity of the unit when mounted within the axle case is secured while separate cover fastenings are avoided.
