Abstract
1331851 Pylons for model aircraft MATTEL Inc 19 April 1971 [3 Feb 1970 29 Jan 1971] 5537/71 and 3467/71 Divided out of 1304441 Heading A6S A pylon 1 for use with a tethered model aircraft has one end of a wire 21 connected to a first member 18 rotatable about a shaft 16 and a lever 20 connected to the wire 21 and connected by a link 200 to a second member 14 axially slidable on the shaft 16 such that reciprocation of the second member 14 causes the lever 20 and hence the wire 21 to rotate about its axis to thereby, in use, transmit torque to a control member (e.g. an elevator 8 or a helicopter rotor) of the aircraft. The member 14 is reciprocable by means of a Bowden-type cable 7. The wire 21 passes through a post 19 on the first member 18 and is adjustably connected to the lever 20. The shaft 16 may be rotatable by a motor 11 and connected through a flexible cable 17 and a slip clutch 171 to a wire 15 operatively connectible to an aircraft propellor. The motor 11 and second member 14 are controllable by a hand member 5. Two pylons, each having an aircraft, may be mounted on opposite ends of a rotatable arm. The aircraft may be as disclosed and claimed in Specification 1304441 wherein the torque in wire 21 automatically compensates for any pitching of the aircraft.
