Abstract

1331701 Coke oven doors SIMON-CARVES Ltd 11 Jan 1971 [4 June 1970] 1261/71 Heading C5E The leveller door (24), see Fig. 2 (not shown), on the door 13, 17, 18, of a horizontal coke oven is carried on a tubular casing 21, 22 which is vertically adjustable on the door 13 by means of bolts (28). The casing has side projections (25, 26) and 29, 30 which engage surfaces (27) on the side flanges (14) of the door 13 and on projections 17, 18 which bound the leveller bar passage. Spaces 39, 40 filled with insulation are formed between the casing parts and the door 13. The bolts (28) enter slots (32) in the projections (25, 26) to engage the surface (27), see Fig. 3 (not shown). In a modification, Fig. 5 (not shown), the projections 29, 30 are replaced by members (36 . . . 38) boltable to the flange 14, and an external connecting piece (43) is disposed between the lips 41, 42 on the casing 21, 22, and can abut the door 13.
