1331629 Cleaning vehicle headlamp glasses SWF - SPECIALFABRIK FUER AUTOZUBEHOER GUSTAV RAU GmbH 22 Dec 1970 [30 Dec 1969] 61003/70 Heading A4F Whilst a protective glass mounted in front of a vehicle headlamp glass is rotated by a motor via a driving wheel it is engaged and cleaned by a fixed wiper blade. A driving wheel 12 on a motor shaft 11 rotates gear rings 13 carrying protective glasses 16 disposed in front of twin headlamps. An electromagnet 23 is energized when the wiper installation is switched on and operates linkage 22, to move wiper blades 15 into stationary operative positions in front of the glasses 16, the blades 15 being returned by a spring 24 to their parking positions when the installation is switched off. Alternatively for cleaning the protective glass of a single headlamp unit a wiper blade 15 is mounted on a resilient holder 14 Figs. 1 and 2, (not shown) secured to the vehicle body.
