Abstract
1331570 Ozonizers J HERRMANN H HERRMANN and P HERRMANN [trading as HERRMANN Gebr] 29 Dec 1971 [9 March 1971] 60300/71 Heading H5H An inductance connected in series with the A.C. power source of an ozonizer has a value such that the natural frequency of the tuned circuit formed by the inductance and the capacitance of the ozonizer during glow discharge is less than that of the power source and preferably in the interval between discharges is greater than that of the power source. The Fig. shows an ozonizer comprising an outer tubular electrode 1, gas passage space 10, dielectric tubes of glass 2, 3 and inner electrodes 6 formed by reflective metal coatings. Contact rings, e.g. 7 connect the inner electrodes to a source 8 via inductor 9. The inductor comprises a coil wound on a high permeability core. The voltage at the ozonizer is greater than that at the voltage source when the value of inductance 9 is correctly chosen.
