Abstract

1331566 Lined cartons; packaging in cartons JOHN WADDINGTON Ltd 20 July 1972 [24 July 1971] 34836/71 Headings B8C and B8P A packaging container is erected from a carton blank 10 having a sheet of heat sealable lining material 36 attached thereto in areas 38 by heat release adhesive so that in the erected container the lining material sheet forms a removable sealed bag. The blank is erected into flattened tubular form, the glue flap 26 being adhered to the panel 12 and the overlapping portions of the lining material 36 being glued or heat-sealed together. The ends of the container are closed by folding inwardly the triangular flaps 12A, 16A, pressing together the sections 14C, 18C of the end flaps 14A, 18A and trapping the liner material therebetween and heat sealing the ends of the lining material and simultaneously detaching the lining material from the sections 14C, 18C by heated rollers (46, 48), and folding over the sections 14C, 18C and 14D as shown in Fig. 6, the section 14D being glued to the carton side 18. The container may be opened by means of a tear strip 54 in the side panel 18.
