Abstract
1331545 Blasting CANADIAN SAFETY FUSE CO Ltd 15 Dec 1971 [21 Dec 1970] 58201/71 Heading E1F [Also in Division F3] In a method of surface blasting, a number of explosive charges in boreholes are initiated by a network of main and trunk lines of detonating fuse-cord laid on the surface. The main line comprises a detonating fuse-cord (see heading F3A) consisting of a low-energy fuse cord 2 and spaced masses of explosive 3 enclosed in a braid 4 and thermoplastics material 5. The trunk lines are attached at the location of the masses 3. The arrangement has a reduced noise level on firing.
