Abstract

1331464 Photosensitive material MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO Ltd 17 Sept 1970 [17 Sept 1969] 44382/70 Heading C3P [Also in Division G2] A photosensitive composition comprises a photocrosslinkable polymer, a solvent for the polymer and either tetracyanoethylene (TCNE) or tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCQD). The composition may be coated on a support and imagewise exposed to cross-link and produce a coloured image in the exposed areas; the coloured image is stated to be produced by forming a complex between the solvent released in the exposed areas and TCNE or TCQD. Specified polymers are polyvinyl cinnamate and the ester of polyvinyl alcohol and p-azidobenzoyl chloride. Specified solvents are xylene, cyclohexanone, ethyl and butyl acetate, dioxane, methyl ethyl ketone and ethylene glycol monomethyl ether which produce different colours with TCNE.
