Abstract

1331044 Pressurized dispensers COOPER McDOUGALL & ROBERTSON Ltd 19 Oct 1970 [18 July 1969] 36217/69 Heading F1R An intermittently actuating valve mechanism for a pressurized dispenser comprises pivotably mounted arms 1, 2 which are biased together by a spring 4 and have followers 11, 12 which engage a cam 3. The cam 3 may be a single cam comprising two small cam surfaces or as shown, comprise separate snail cam surfaces 9, 10, engaged respectively by the followers 12, 11 and on rotation causes arms 1, 2 to separate until the follower 12 slips off surface 9 with snap action causing depression of the button 6. Further rotation causes follower 11 to slip off surface 10 and arm 2 to hit buffer 5 and force arm 1 back also with snap action. The cam 3 is driven by a geared down synchronous, clockwork or D.C. motor and may be driven through a one-way clutch. The container whose valve may be of the metering type, is mounted on a plate 16 and releasably held by supports 13 and spring loaded locking member 17 which is displaceable by a pivotable lever 7.
