Abstract

1330798 Detergent dispensers BRITISH DOMESTIC APPLIANCES Ltd 8 Aug 1972 36956/72 Heading A4F [Also in Division D1] A detergent dispenser comprises a tiltable vessel 11 which is stable when holding a charge of liquid detergent only but tilts when a flushing liquid is introduced from an inlet 20 thereby discharging the liquid to an opening 27. As shown the vessel 11 is mounted in a drawer 1 which is slidable in a housing 2, having discharge and overflow openings 27 and 28, and comprises a partition wall 6 defining pre-wash and main wash powder detergent chambers 8 and 9 and a discharge opening 26. A micro-switch (30) Fig. 1 (not shown) prevents operation of a control programmer until the drawer is closed. In use powder detergent is added to the chamber 8 and 9 and liquid rinse or other agent to the chamber 17 of the vessel 11 and water is successively added to the chambers 8 and 9 and the chamber 18 of the vessel which then tips, further inlet water flushing the chamber 17.
